About CORDIERITE SAGGER

Cordierite sagger is a high-performance refractory material used in the sintering of ceramic products upto 1350 degrees1.It is mainly fabricated using Al2O3-SiO2-MgO composites 2.

ADVANTAGES OF CORDIERITE SAGGER

Exceptional thermal shock resistance
High-temperature stability
Good electrical insulation properties
Low thermal expansion

Exceptional Thermal Stability and Strength

Cordierite sagger trays excel in thermal environments, withstanding rapid heating and cooling cycles up to 1300C. Their high cold crushing strength above 15 MPa, combined with a low thermal expansion coefficient, ensures structural integrity even under significant thermal stress. These properties make them dependable for repeated use in demanding kiln applications, where both temperature control and material stability are critical.

Versatile Applications and Customization

The design of our cordierite sagger-rectangular, open box form-supports a range of industrial processes, including the sintering of ceramics, ferrites, and electronic materials. Its matte glaze finish provides chemical resistance, while custom sizing options cater to unique operational requirements. Ideal for manufacturers and suppliers in India and beyond, this sagger meets rigorous industry standards for quality and performance.

FAQ's of CORDIERITE SAGGER:

Q: How is a cordierite sagger used in industrial firing processes?

A: Cordierite saggers are employed as protective containers in kilns to sinter or fire ceramics, ferrites, and electronic powders. They prevent direct flame contact and contamination, ensuring product purity and uniform heating throughout the firing process.

Q: What benefits does cordierite material provide for sagger trays?

A: Cordierite offers exceptional thermal shock resistance, high mechanical strength at temperatures up to 1300C, and good chemical durability. These attributes translate to longer lifespan, reduced breakage, and reliable performance during repeated firing cycles.

Q: When should I choose a cordierite sagger with glazed surface treatment?

A: A glazed surface is recommended when you need enhanced chemical resistance and reduced porosity. This treatment helps prevent sticking and eases cleaning after firing, making it suitable for applications involving reactive powders or sensitive ceramic products.

Q: Where can cordierite saggers be used effectively?

A: They are optimally used in industrial kilns as part of kiln furniture or refractory lining, supporting the sintering of ceramics, electronic components, and ferrite materials in manufacturing and research settings.

Q: What is the process for ordering custom-sized cordierite saggers?

A: You can request custom sizes by specifying your dimensions and application requirements to the manufacturer or supplier. Custom manufacturing ensures the sagger fits specialized kilns or accommodates unique production needs.

Q: How does the porosity and water absorption affect sagger performance?

A: With 28-32% porosity and water absorption under 10%, these saggers maintain low thermal expansion and effective insulation while resisting moisture ingress, which is crucial for high-temperature, moisture-sensitive environments.
